Sprouted Quinoa
A revered crop since the Incas, Quinoa is one of Nature's most nourishing superfoods. Native to the Andean regions of Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, this ancient seed is a nutrient dense, gluten-free alternative to grains. Although referred to as the "Mother of all Grains" according to the Incas, it is technically not classified as a true grain or cereal from the grass family, but is related to foods such as spinach and beets. Sprouted Quinoa is not only a superfood loaded with incredible nutrition, it is delicious to eat and easy to digest. Sprouting unlocks the nutrition in the seed, significantly increasing vitamins, minerals and enzymes as well as decreasing phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors present in the raw seed. Low temperature air-drying ensures that the vital enzymes and nutrients stay intact. The result is the most digestible, nourishing superfood that will keep you satisfied and strong. It is an indispensable staple for those on a gluten free diet and because of the sprouting process it does not require any washing, rinsing or soaking and it is ready to use, raw sprouted or cooked. This delicately nutty seed cooks within 15 minutes. It is delicious on its own or one can add it to soups, salads, wraps, stir-fries, stews and curries. Quinoa makes a great alternative to oatmeal and other morning cereals. Add Organic Traditions Sprouted Chia Powder, Organic Traditions, Goji Berries, Organic Traditions Golden Berries, Organic Traditions Vanilla Powder and a drizzle of Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup to sweeten. Quinoa also makes a great flour substitute. Pulse the sprouted seeds in a coffee grinder to make fluffy gluten-free flour.
